The Bonnechere Valley Youth Activities Centre has been operating at 8-B Foran Street in Eganville since 2005. In 2008 it was recreated with a local board of Directors made up of parents and concerned individuals with the hopes of providing activities and programming to youth aged 12-18 and offer a wide range of activities such as dances, movie nights, homework help and out of town trips. The Youth Activity Centre (BV YAC) also runs a canteen open to the public during summer hours.
We have received help from a number of people. In the Autumn of 2009, thanks to a grant from Hydro One, the BV YAC building was insulated to allow for year-round usage. We have been lucky enough to receive a Trillium Foundation Grant for the past two years. The Centre relies heavily on our local businesses to help us stay open, and we thank them for all their help.
The BVYAC is currently open Monday through Friday 4:00 pm - 8 pm. – unless we are holding off-site activities!
New programming has allowed us to open up to a younger crowd, ages 8-12
